Our investment philosophy is based on
partnerships with management and long-term commitment.
Partnerships with management
Chartwell's investment philosophy is centered on establishing
a partnership with management. We believe that the ability
to work with management is fundamental to long-term success.
Prior to making any investment, we meet with all levels of
management to develop a thorough understanding of a company's
finances, operating characteristics, underlying values and
potential performance.
We provide a significant share of equity for management through
stock options and co-investment to ensure that we share common
goals. This equity partnership is the key to maximizing our
investment return over the long term.
Long-term commitment
Chartwell's investment partnership with Leucadia National
Corporation has no defined exit requirement. Chartwell is
focused on providing long-term homes for companies and Chartwell
is not subject to the same pressures that cause other private
equity firms to sell. We allow management the time and financial
flexibility to create long-term value. |
